Teacher Biographies
 

Megan Gordon, director of His School of Dance, accepted Christ as her savior when she was four and is committed to making him Lord of her life. She has been dancing since she was 9 years old when she began taking classes from Celebration Ministry of Arts in Denver, CO where she was trained by young women to use dance to worship God. She continued her technical training in dance including classes in ballet, jazz, and modern with the Sangre de Cristo Ballet Theatre in Pueblo where she also worked as an administrative assistant. In 2003, Megan and her best friend Laura Winship founded His School of Dance with the desire to teach other girls in Pueblo to worship God through dance. Laura's move later that year left His School of Dance under Megan Gordon's direction. In the summer of 2005, she participated in Ballet Magnificat's Summer Intensive where she was trained in her technique as a dancer and as a teacher as well as discipled in her relationship with God. She is passionate about missions and has served in Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Serbia, Montenegro, and around the United States. Megan recently graduated from Colorado State University - Pueblo, Summa Cum Laude, with degrees in Spanish and Music. It is her desire to use dance to lead other girls and boys in worship of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Kaitlin Nelson started technical ballet classes at a very young age. After eight years of formal training, she moved to Colorado and discovered His School of Dance. This training, along with another formal ballet class, equipped her to assist and finally teach classes at His School. Additionally, she has been involved with several summer camps. She has been teaching for three years.


Outside of ballet, Kaitlin is very involved with the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association, a speech and debate league for homeschool Christian high schoolers. She also uses her seven years of cello playing to contribute to her church's worship group. In the time left over that isn't devoted to school, Kaitlin can be found writing stories, shopping with her friends, or simply walking her dog and thinking about life in the beautiful outdoors. Her current aspirations are finish reading the classics.  She is attending University of Colorado - Colorado Springs as a freshman in the fall so she will be taking leave from teaching His School of Dance to pursue her studies. 

Rachel Deibler has been dancing for ten years. She began with Celebration Ministry of Arts, joined His School of Dance seven years ago, and is continuing her technical training at the Sangre de Cristo School of Dance. This is her third year teaching. Rachel also has her own video production company called Studio 3:16.  She has done the concert videos for His School of Dance for the last three years and also produces and records the videos for many other events across southern Colorado.

Alumni -Teacher Biographies

Tiffany Mishmash started dancing when she was four years old with tap, ballet, jazz, clog, and lyrical. When she was ten Tiffany began dancing with His School of Dance in addition to her other training. After a few years, she realized that God was speaking to her through His School in order to show her the plan He had for her life. Tiffany asked Christ into her heart when she was five and is dedicated to keeping Him the center of everything she does. Currently, she is continuing her technical ballet training at the Sangre de Cristo School of Dance and she also participates as a Leader In Training in the Awana program at her church. She has been assisting at His School for two years and is excited to watch God work through her as she teaches young girls and boys how to worship Him through dance.

Deborah English first trusted in Jesus for salvation when she was 6 years old and was baptized 2 years later. She has been dancing since she was 11 and continues to train under HSD’s director, Megan Gordon. She is currently finishing high school and is looking to take some online college courses as well. She enjoys working with little children in her church’s nursery and is very excited about teaching other boys and girls to worship God through dance. She is the oldest of 10 children (currently) and loves all her family dearly. She has been on 2 mission trips to Mexico and hopes to go on many more around the world.

Kate Metz began dancing at the age of 4, but began her technical training at Sangre de Cristo Ballet Theater. There, she progressed to becoming part of the ballet company. She discovered His School of Dance in 2006, and began dancing with the school full time shortly after. Kate became a Christian at the age of 6, and has been growing in her faith since. After her first international missions trip to Haiti in 2007, she decided to go into the mission field full time. Kate is in her last semester of college to become an EMT Intermediate, and she plans on attending a Discipleship Training School (with YWAM) this coming fall.
